Shrink a photo to under 20 KB for signature and thumbnail uploads. The tool lowers quality only as far as needed to fit.
PNG ignores the quality setting because it is lossless. Enhance uses smooth upscaling and sharpening, not AI, so it makes soft images crisper but can't recover detail that isn't there. If your browser can't write AVIF, that option reports an error and you can pick another format.
If a photo still comes out above 20 KB, enter a smaller max width too. Smaller dimensions save more than quality alone.
It tries several quality levels and keeps the best result that fits under the limit.
Large or detailed images may need a smaller max width as well. Enter a lower width and try again.
